Hey guys, Ryan here with ActuallyUsed. And today, I’m diving into the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Pro vs the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra. This is the mid-range vs. Flagship cleaners from Beatbot. Same brand, same family, very different price tags.
So the obvious question is — what does an extra money actually get you? And more importantly, is either one of these worth it when you stack them up against the corded competition?
I bought both. I tested both. I hooked both of them up to my manometer to get suction data at the intake. And honestly? The results surprised me. Especially on the Ultra, but not in a good way.
So before you spend two grand — or three — on a cordless pool robot, you’re going to want to hear this. Let’s get into it.

Price & Value — What Are You Actually Paying For?
Let’s start with the sticker shock. The AquaSense 2 Pro comes in at around $2,000. The Ultra? $3,000. That’s not a typo. Three thousand dollars for a pool robot.
Now, Beatbot positions the Ultra as their top-of-the-line model. It’s got more sensors — 27 vs. 22 on the Pro. It has 11 motors instead of 9. There’s an AI camera, dual TOF sensors, and a couple extra guide wheels. On paper, the Ultra looks like a serious upgrade.
But here’s the thing — both robots share the same 13,400 mAh (milli-amp) battery. Same 5,500 GPH rated flow. Same IP68 rating. Same 3-year warranty. Same dual filter basket design. Same ClearWater clarification system. Same pool size rating of 3,875 square feet. Even the physical dimensions are nearly identical, besides the Ultra being a few pounds heavier.
So a lot of the core hardware is shared between these two. The Ultra adds some bells and whistles on the intelligence side, but where it really matters — the stuff that actually cleans your pool — it’s not the leap you’d expect for an extra $1,000 or more.

Suction Power — Manometer Testing
Alright, this is the section I know you guys come here for. The manometer test. The suction data, measured at the intake, under the same conditions, in the same pool.
If you’re new here, a manometer is a device that measures suction pressure in water. It’s the most objective way to compare how hard a robot is actually pulling debris off the floor of your pool.
So here’s what I got in my testing:
The AquaSense 2 Pro pulled 1.5 PSI on a full charge. Respectable for a cordless unit. Not great, but not terrible either.

The AquaSense 2 Ultra? 1.2 PSI. Yeah — you read that right. The $3,000 flagship model tested lower than the $2,000 mid-range model. I ran it multiple times to make sure. Same result.
Now, how does that happen? I’m not too sure. Maybe it’s just my unit, but that’s as high as it went in my tests.
And here’s the real kicker. Let’s compare these to a couple of the top corded robots I’ve tested. The Dolphin Premier pulls about 2.2 PSI consistently. The Dolphin Sigma comes in around 2.0 PSI. Both of those are corded, which means that number doesn’t fade — it’s constant from the first minute to the last.

So the Premier has roughly 47% more suction than the Pro, and over 83% more than the Ultra. And the Premier costs around $1,500. That’s less than either Beatbot. Way less than the Ultra.
Filtration — Premium Price, Basic Filters
Both the Pro and Ultra come with a dual filter basket system. On the Ultra, you get slightly larger capacity — 4.0 liters vs. 3.7 liters on the bigger basket. Filter density is the same between the two: 150 microns plus 250 microns on the larger basket, and 250 microns on the thinner one.
Now, 150 microns is fine for everyday stuff. Leaves, larger debris, that kind of thing. But it’s nowhere close to what a NanoFilter on the Dolphin Premier or Sigma can do. Those NanoFilters are catching particles you can’t even see. The kind of fine dust, pollen, and silt that makes the difference between a pool that looks clean and a pool that actually is clean.
At this price point — especially on the Ultra — I expected filtration technology that would blow me away. Instead, I got mesh baskets that are serviceable but nowhere near the best in the industry. The filter is the heart of any pool robot. It’s the thing trapping debris so it doesn’t recirculate into your water. And in my experience, both Beatbots fell behind here compared to corded models that cost significantly less, which was super disappointing.

Automation — The Daily Charging Reality
This is the part that really gets me. Both of these are cordless. Both share the same 13,400 mAh (milli-amp) battery. And both require the same daily routine.
You drop the robot in the pool. It runs its cycle. Then you pull it out, carry a dripping 25-to-29-pound robot across your deck, line it up on the charging dock, and wait several hours for it to recharge. That’s two interactions per day. Multiply by seven — that’s 14 times a week you’re messing with your pool robot. If each one takes five minutes between hauling it out and getting it set up, that’s over an hour a week of pool robot management.
Compare that to a corded model with a weekly timer. The Dolphin Premier or Sigma stays in the pool. It turns on automatically every day on the schedule you set. You empty the filter maybe once a week. That’s one interaction, five minutes, done.

So here’s the interaction math: 14 interactions per week with either Beatbot. One interaction per week with a corded Dolphin. And the Dolphin costs less. Cordless sounds convenient until you actually live with it.
And the Ultra doesn’t solve this problem any better than the Pro does. Same battery, same charging requirement. The extra money doesn’t buy you better automation. It buys you more sensors and an AI camera, but you’re still out there every single day hauling this thing in and out of the water – which is something I can’t stand after using a robot with a weekly timer.
App & Smart Features — Where the Ultra Tries to Justify Its Price
To be fair, the Ultra does bring some upgrades over the Pro. The HybridSense AI Pool Mapping with the AI camera and dual TOF sensors is more advanced than the Pro’s system. You get 27 sensors vs. 22. The extra guide wheels help with maneuverability. And the dual side brush system is a nice touch for surface cleaning.

But here’s the problem — the app only works when the robot’s at the surface. Once it goes underwater, you lose connection. That’s true for both models. So all those smart features? You can’t interact with them while the robot’s cleaning underwater. You can’t steer it, you can’t change modes mid-cycle, you can’t do anything until it comes back up.
Compare that to the Dolphin Sigma, where the app stays connected because the control box sits poolside and has a direct connection to the robot, thanks to the cord. You can start a clean from your couch, switch modes, monitor progress — all while the robot is underwater doing its job. That’s what a smart pool robot should feel like.
Pro vs. Ultra — If You’re Going Beatbot
If I was picking a robot, I probably wouldn’t choose either of these. But I’d go corded. BUT if you’ve already decided you want a Beatbot — maybe you love the cordless form factor, maybe you have a pool setup that makes cords difficult — then the Pro is the better buy between these two in my opinion.

It tested with more suction power. It’s lighter and easier to handle. It’s cheaper. And you’re getting the same battery, similar filtration, and the same daily charging routine either way. The Ultra’s extra sensors and AI camera sound impressive on a spec sheet, but they didn’t translate to a meaningfully better clean in my testing. You’re paying a premium for technology.
The Bigger Picture — Should You Go Cordless at All?
Beatbot makes a good-looking product with some interesting ideas. The wireless charging dock is cool. The AI mapping is ambitious. And for a cordless robot, the Pro’s 1.5 PSI is decent.
But “decent” is a tough sell when you’re spending over two grand. And it’s an even tougher sell at $3,000.
In my testing, corded robots from Dolphin’s ProLine consistently outperformed both Beatbots in suction power, filtration quality, and true set-it-and-forget-it automation. The Dolphin Premier and Sigma both use commercial-grade motors, NanoFilters that catch particles these Beatbot filters simply can’t, and weekly timers that eliminate the daily charging routine entirely. And they cost less than either Beatbot.

If you’re willing to trade the cordless aesthetic for more suction, better filtration, and actual automation, I’d encourage you to look at the corded options before pulling the trigger on either of these.
Final Thoughts
Between these two Beatbots, the Pro wins. More suction, less money, lighter weight. If cordless is a must-have for your situation, save the money and grab the Pro.
